There are places that are not just spaces, but keepers of stories, bonds, and emotions that time cannot erase. Our story begins in 1978, when Ermanno decided to make his dream come true: to open a small hotel above the family's sports shop.
This is how Hotel Daniela was founded, a name chosen to pay tribute to her sister Daniela Zini, a young skier with extraordinary talent, who would soon become a champion and the pride not only of her family, but of the entire town.
That name, so simple, already carried with it a great story: that of someone who approaches life with passion, dedication and authentic spirit.
At the heart of the hotel, Grandma Ida – at the age of sixty – took on a whole new challenge: to take to the kitchen and become the driving force behind the cuisine, with recipes made with tradition and love. With her, Grandfather Giovanni, always on the move, with his unmistakable whistle and the thoughtful presence of Uncle Cristiano first and then Aunt Franca. Those were years of simple things, sincere smiles and guests who returned year after year because they felt part of a family.
In 2007, a new energy took the helm: Sharon, Ermanno's daughter, took up the heritage and looked ahead, with respect for the roots but with an eye to the future.
And the future, sometimes, requires the courage to really change. We felt the need for a profound transformation. Not only in the spaces, but in the soul of the project. This is how Hotel Daniela became Al Nin Hotel & Spa. “Al Nin”, in Livigno dialect, means “the nest”: an intimate and protected refuge, designed to welcome guests with style and delicacy. Every room has been carefully redesigned: natural materials, clean lines, warm tones that speak of the mountains, but also of design, balance and well-being.
In the heart of Al Nin there is a special tribute: the Ski Champion Suite, dedicated to Daniela, our local champion. A suite that bears her name and spirit, to remember who we were and everything that brought us here. There are two other rooms that pay homage to our family's deepest roots: those of our grandparents Ida Mottini and Giovanni Zini. The Ida Suite and Stua Joanin, dedicated to them, are spaces that preserve memories, transformed today into elegance and warmth. A way to remember that true renewal always comes from the heart, and that only by remembering our origins can we look to the future with authenticity.
Al Nin is our present, born from a past that has taught us the value of hospitality, family and care, and which we will continue to honour, day after day.
